New Game Arrivals: August 19, 2016

Islebound

Set sail in a mystical archipelago filled with bustling towns, sea monsters, pirates, and gold! Compete to build the best sea-faring nation with up to three friends by collecting treasure, hiring crew, and conquering or befriending island towns.

In Islebound, you take command of a ship and crew. You sail to island towns, collecting resources, hiring crew, and commissioning buildings for your capital city. Each building has a unique ability, and your combination of buildings can greatly enhance your strength as a trader, builder, or invader. You also recruit pirates and sea monsters to conquer towns, which, once conquered, allow you to complete the town action for free, and charge a fee to opponents if they want to use it. Alternatively, you can complete events that give influence, which can be used to befriend towns.

There are many routes to success. Will you be a ruthless conqueror, careful diplomat, or shrewd merchant in your race to the top?  The player with the most wealth and most-impressive capital city will win the game!

Smash Up: Cease and Desist

Smash Up: Cease and Desist can be played on its own as a two-player game or combined with other Smash Up titles to allow for up to four players to compete for control of bases at the same time.

Smash Up: Cease and Desist includes four factions — Astroknights, Changerbots, Star Roamers, and Ignobles — with 22 cards for each faction. To play, you shuffle together any two factions, whether from this set or any other Smash Up title, then start playing.

Boss Monster: Crash Landing

An alien vessel has crashlanded in the land of Arcadia, bringing with it Boss Monster: Crash Landing, an out-of-this-world expansion to the world of Boss Monster!

Crash Landing expands the dungeon-building card game to 5-6 players and introduces a new set of science fiction-themed Bosses, Heroes, Spells, and an all new treasure type, the Alien Artifact. Will you play as one of the new alien Bosses, using technology and otherworldly monsters to lure in intrepid Explorers and slay them? Or will you play as one of the classic Bosses, using your spells and monstrous cunning to teach these alien upstarts who the baddest dude in the land is? With Crash Landing you can teach even more of your friends a lesson in deadly dungeon design.

Rabbit Rally

Rabbit Island is an exciting place. A giant golden carrot shimmers on the horizon and it's time to harvest the carrots. Unfortunately the golden carrot and other delicious carrots are on a different island in the lake and the poor rabbits don’t know how to swim. But wait, one clever rabbit has an idea to sink big stones in the water in order to create a bridge between the islands with boards and planks!

Each rabbit quickly starts to build their own bridge, and tries to be the first to reach the giant golden carrot. Unfortunately there aren't enough boards for all the bridges, so all the rabbits need to use the same bridge pieces. A player who overestimates the length of the planks must stand still and watch the other rabbits hop past on their way to the carrot island. So pay attention and start guessing and building!  A challenging & fun, guessing game for 2 to 4 players, ages 4 to 99 years old.

Go, Go Little Penguins!

Go, go, little penguin! The penguin mommies and their babies live on an island. But the tasty fish is on the mainland, and the penguin babies don’t know how to swim yet. Fortunately, there are plenty of stones, logs and planks jutting out of the water so the penguin babies can hop with their mommies from one to the next. Which penguin twosome will be the first to reach the plate on the mainland and gobble up the two tasty fish?   A first competitive game for 2 to 3 penguin fans 2 years and older.
