Saturday,
May 23 is Worldwide D&D Day plus the release of Monster Manual 2, and to
celebrate we're holding D&D events throughout the day. No RSVP's are
necessary, so join us for some dungeon crawling fun!
Our
first Age
of Steam event was a lot of fun, with 12 people turning out to play this
classic train game. Most of the players were newbies, and Lee and
Travis did a great job of showing everyone the ropes, as demonstrated by the
fact that most of the games were won by new players! One table also
got in a game of Chicago Express, a shorter train game that was published
early this year. The group will be meeting every Sunday starting at
11:00 am, which will allow everyone enough time to get in two complete games
of Age of Steam. Travis has a big collection of AoS maps ready to be
explored, and Lee has a copy of the out-of-print Stephenson's Rocket that
he'd like to get to the table, so if you have any interest in train games,
Cat & Mouse on Sundays is the place to be!
Our
May Settlers tournament was a big success, and we're holding a second one in
June to accommodate the people who weren't able to get seats the first time
around. Whether
you've been playing it for years or are relatively new to the game, this
will be a fun opportunity for a little friendly competition! 
Starting Tuesday, May 26, we're expanding our hours (see sidebar at right)
and adding a Friday night game night in addition to our long-standing one on
Tuesday nights. To kick things off, on Friday May 29 we're having a
game night with a bit of a party atmosphere. We'll be playing a
variety of light, fun games, but will be featuring Word
Blur, the suprisingly wonderful game of word associations. We'll be
giving away copies of the game at 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm as door prizes, so
stop by and join in the fun!
