Need Something to do this Sunday? Come to Cat & Mouse and Race to Win a PitchCar Set!

It's true! Thanks to the generous support from Chicago's own FRED Distribution, you'll have a golden opportunity to win your very own PitchCar base set ($79.99) during our PitchCar tournament on Sunday, April 26.

PitchCar is the wooden finger-flicking race car game that can be enjoyed by young and old alike, so be sure to bring along the kids. If you've never played before, don't worry - it takes seconds to learn and is tons of fun!

There's no need to pre-register for the tournament and no entry fee; just show up between 1:00 and 2:00 and we'll get you in a race. We'll have two tracks going at the same time and will be able to run through a lot of races pretty quickly. Finalists will start their engines at 2:30 to compete for the big trophy!

On Sunday we'll also have an in-store scavenger hunt. Identify the games pictured on the clue sheet and we'll give you 10%-20% off a game of your choice. The more games you name, the more you save!

Smallworld Demos this Saturday 4/25

On Saturday we'll demo Small World, the new big box game from Days of Wonder. In Small World, players vie for conquest and control of a world that is simply too small to accommodate them all. Small World is inhabited by a zany cast of characters such as dwarves, wizards, amazons, giants, orcs and even humans; who use their troops to occupy territory and conquer adjacent lands in order to push the other races off the face of the earth. Picking the right combination from the 14 different fantasy races and 20 unique special powers, players rush to expand their empires - often at the expense of weaker neighbors.

The game plays 2-5 players and takes about 90 min. Games will start at 1:00 and 3:00. Please RSVP for this event so that we know how many people to expect.

Go is the 2-player game know for its simple rules but strategic depth and complexity. On the first Sunday of every month we host a Go event in the store, and we invite you to join us for an afternoon playing the game that Andre says is the only one he'd ever need on a desert island! If you've never played before we're happy to teach you, and we have plenty of sets on hand, so there's no need to bring your own. The next Go event is on Sunday, May 3 at 2 pm.
